For years, Scott had ADHD but he never knew it. He didn’t know why his eyes darted around the page when reading textbooks and why he couldn’t focus for long stretches on important tasks.
Right before his senior year, however, Scott was diagnosed and treated and his life experiences changed forever. He maintained a rigorous schedule but was able to excel in other areas, too. Not only does he participate in track and field, but he spent time as a peer tutor at Ridgetop Middle School and started a computer science club at Silver Ridge Elementary School, two schools he used to attend. He’s in orchestra – he’s played the cello since fifth grade – and serves as the community outreach coordinator for Central Kitsap High School’s environmental club. He’s also a member of National Honor Society. And he loves to rock climb.
Scott not only believes he’s better equipped to tackle a college courseload, but to pursue his passions and interests outside of the classroom as well.
