Dominic Chance, CK High

2026 Graduate Spotlight: Dominic Chance, CK High

A young man with curly hair, wearing a GAP hoodie, stands against a textured wall.

Dominic looks back on his time in the Central Kitsap School District with zero regret. He appreciated every step in the journey and loved his senior year, in particular.

Dominic’s journey began as a kindergartner at Hawk Elementary, but it wasn’t always easy for him. As a mixed-race student, he went through an identity crisis of sorts. “I just never knew how to fit in, culturally or otherwise,” Dominic said.

He entered Central Kitsap High School as a sophomore and his experience steadily changed. Dominic found a more relatable environment conducive to exploring who he was as a person, not only culturally but in his interests. While sports had been a major part of his life, Dominic said his time at CKHS helped him find a better sense of balance and self-worth.

Dominic not only walked away in June with his high school diploma; he walked away as a more well-rounded individual with a better understanding of his true self.
