A Note from Dr. Erin Prince

Our schools are always working to grow and improve. One of the ways they do that is by creating annual School Improvement Plans. These plans are based on real student data and help each school focus on what their students need most. We regularly share updates on these plans during school board meetings. Our board directors and district administrators also visit schools and observe these plans in action throughout the year.

Last week, we held our first “SIPs in Action” visit of the year at Barker Creek Community School. While there, we heard directly from students about how hope, connection, and care are helping them grow and thrive.  It was a beautiful reminder of the difference a strong school community can make. Thank you for being part of this journey with us!

On Monday, October 20, we’ll welcome our first middle school field trip to the CK Performing Arts Center, thanks to our school support levy. That night, your whole family is invited to the evening performance of the show (6:30-7:30 p.m.), which uses comic book techniques to reanimate the sci-fi classic. We hope you'll join us!

Come Celebrate Fairview's Transformation!

We are pleased to invite you to the Fairview Middle School Ribbon Cutting and Open House on Wednesday, October 29. Staff and students have been in the new building since last fall, and now the final touches are complete, including new parking areas, updated gym, and athletic field improvements.

We'll kick things off at 5:00 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by an open house and tours from 5:20 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Stop by, explore the new spaces, and join in the celebration!

Every Form Counts! Impact Aid = Impact Made

Each year, we apply for Impact Aid funding from the federal government. These funds compensate CKSD for the loss of local tax dollars from tax exempt federal property.

The results of our Impact Aid survey help support our request for these federal funds. This survey is critical to our district’s resources for students. Please log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal to complete your form today! Learn more on our website or email ImpactAid@ckschools.org with your questions. Thank you for your help!
