A Note from Dr. Erin Prince

The safety of our students is always our top priority. When students feel safe, they are ready to learn, and that’s what matters!

One way we support this is through the Standard Response Protocol (SRP), which gives students, staff, and first responders a clear, common language to use in an emergency. To build confidence and preparedness, we also conduct safety drills throughout the year. These drills are an important way for us to practice and be ready if the unexpected happens.

Thank you for your support as we work together to ensure safe, secure, and welcoming schools for every student!

New Calendars Available

It’s never too early to plan ahead! Our school board has approved school year calendars for 2026-27, 2027-28, and 2028-29. These calendars were shaped with feedback from a survey last February. They were designed to help students ease into the start of a new school year (a gradual “slow start” week) while also moving our snow make-up days to later in the year. You can download the new calendars from our website.

Why is your Impact Aid form so important?

Each year, we apply for Impact Aid funding from the federal government. These funds compensate CKSD for the loss of local tax dollars from tax exempt federal property.

The results of our Impact Aid survey help support our request for these federal funds. This survey is critical to our district’s resources for students. Please log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal to complete your form today! Learn more on our website or email ImpactAid@ckschools.org with your questions. Thank you for your cooperation!
