We support parents and guardians as the primary educator for puberty and sexual health education topics. Strong communication between children, their families, and trusted adults at school can help students feel safe and make healthy choices.
School districts in Washington are required to present age-appropriate instruction about human growth and development, HIV prevention, confirmed consent and bystander behaviors. Starting in 5th grade, we use lessons taught by registered nurses and provide medically and scientifically factual information.
