Pride Month 2026

June is annually recognized as Pride Month, seen as a time to acknowledge the history and contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals in the United States and within communities across the country.
Pride Month traces its origins to the Stonewall Riots in 1969. First recognized on a national level in 1999, this month serves as an opportunity to reflect on the diverse experiences and perspectives that are reflected in our society.
At CK Schools, we are committed to fostering safe and welcoming learning environments where all students, staff, and families are treated with dignity and respect. We recognize the importance of creating a sense of belonging and building community, not just in June, but all year long.
We highlight and celebrate national history and heritage months as a district and in schools throughout the year as part of our commitment to ensuring safe and welcoming learning environments. This includes Black History Month (February); Women’s History Month (March); Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Month (May); Pride Month (June); Hispanic/Latin(o/a/x) Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15); Disability History Month (October); and Native American Heritage Month (November).
