Replacement School Support Levy Will Appear on February Ballot

Central Kitsap voters will consider a four-year Replacement School Support Levy for Educational Enrichment Programs and Operations in the February 9, 2027, special election. The proposed levy would replace our current levy, which expires next year.
School Support Levies in Central Kitsap and Statewide
CK Schools has had a levy in place for more than 30 years. Currently, 97% of WA school districts rely on local levies. These funds help bridge the gap between what the state funds and what it costs to provide existing programs, services, and support for students.
What the Levy Funds
Local levy dollars help pay for:
- Athletics Programs
- Classroom Technology
- Counselors & Support Staff
- Extracurriculars & Arts Activities
- Operational Support Staff
- School Safety & Security
- Student Transportation
- Teachers & Additional Staff
Replacement Levy Cost Info
The replacement levy would keep rates at an estimated $1.50 (per $1,000 of assessed value). It would collect approximately $23 million in 2028.
If approved, the levy would continue local funding for four more years and help maintain our eligibility for additional funding from the state and federal government. If the levy is not approved, the district would need to reduce programs, services, and staffing.
