Hispanic Heritage Month 2026

Central Kitsap Schools joins communities across the nation in recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15). This year’s theme, selected by the National Council of Hispanic Employment Program Managers (NCHEPM), is “Unidos Somos Más: Together, We Are More.” The theme highlights the strength of community and the many ways our shared experiences, cultures, and contributions enrich our lives.
Throughout the month, our schools will explore the histories, traditions, and achievements of Hispanic/Latine individuals, both past and present. Through lessons and activities, students will have opportunities to learn more about the diverse communities that have helped shape our nation and continue to strengthen our region and our district.
We highlight and celebrate national history and heritage months as a district and in schools throughout the year as part of our commitment to ensuring safe and welcoming learning environments. This includes Black History Month (February); Women’s Heritage Month (March); Asian American & Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander Month (May); Pride Month (June); Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15); Disability History Month (October); and Native American Heritage Month (November).
