📋 Finding Your School

Most of our students are assigned to attend the schools closest to their homes. Visit our school boundaries page to find out which school is closest to you.

You can also choose a kindergarten program based on your child's interests and learning style. To choose a school outside your boundary area, you will first need to request a transfer. We offer:

If you have any questions about enrolling, call your school’s main office.

🚌 Riding the Bus

We’ll assign your child a bus stop. Drivers cannot change or add bus stops. You will need to provide your child’s driver and your school's main office with written permission to let your child off at a different bus stop.

Talk with your child about boarding and riding the bus safely. It’s also helpful if you both memorize your route number and driver’s name. Here are some resources to help:

We also welcome you to see what the inside of a bus is like and ask us any questions. Call our Transportation staff from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 360-662-8800.

📙 What Your Child Will Learn

students use bee-shaped bots to learn coding basicsWe will help your child build a foundation in math, science, reading, writing and social studies. We’ll also help your child learn other lifelong social and emotional skills.

Before school starts, we’ll ask you fill out a Kindergarten Questionnaire (also available in Spanish). This helps your child’s teacher get to know your child and meet your child’s learning needs.

Kindergarten teachers also check your child’s developing skills as part of the state WaKIDS inventory. Your child’s teacher closely observes your child’s progress and will share any concerns with you.

We’ll also use short tests throughout the year to check your child’s growth in math and literacy.
