What Do Mentors Do?

Adult and teen mentors help nearly 300 students each year in our schools. They develop positive relationships between schools and students, parents and communities around the common goal of supporting academic success.

Many of the students paired with mentors report that they have greater self-confidence, improved relationships with their peers and more positive attitudes toward school. Their parents also say their children have better attitudes toward school and better grades.

"This program has helped my son so much. He was struggling emotionally at school because of some issues with peers. His mentor gave him a reason to go to school and made a huge positive impact on his self-esteem. As a parent I am beyond thankful for this opportunity and the smile it put on my son's face."
