Ground has officially broken on the Klahowya addition project!

Students, staff and dignitaries gathered Friday to celebrate the start of construction.

Crews are already at the site making way for the two-story, 45,300 square-foot building.

The addition includes an auxiliary gym, a second music room, 3 labs and 13 permanent classrooms to get students out of portables. Work also includes security improvements, including a double-door entryway.

Klahowya’s athletic fields will also be improved. Crews will renovate the track and install a synthetic turf field.

All work is expected to be complete by fall 2018.
