Vaccination Requirement for K-12 School Employees
Posted on 08/18/2021

Today, the governor announced a new directive regarding vaccine requirements. All K-12 school district employees must get a COVID-19 vaccination or obtain a medical or religious exemption by October 18, 2021.

Employees who are vaccinated will need to provide proof of vaccination.
If you are not vaccinated and do not wish to obtain an exemption, please use this chart to ensure you are fully vaccinated by October 18:

Returning to School
This requirement will not delay our return to school next month. Unvaccinated staff members should continue to come to work while in the process of becoming fully vaccinated. We do understand this is challenging news for some employees. Our leadership team is committed to doing what they can to support you as you get vaccinated or obtain a medical or religious exemption by October 18, 2021.

Student Health and Safety

There is no vaccine requirement for students. The current requirement for all students, staff, and visitors to wear face coverings is still in place.

In the meantime, please talk with your supervisor if you have questions, or read through this list of frequently asked questions from OSPI. Thank you!
