Do you want to help guide the next chapter of facility improvements across CK Schools? We are seeking volunteers for our Long-Range Facilities Planning Committee.
Committee Overview
Our Long-Range Facilities Planning Committee will play a key play a key role in helping the district update our Long-Range Facilities Plan (LRFP), the roadmap that guides future capital investments and helps ensure our schools remain safe, functional, and responsive to the needs of our students and community. As we prepare for the next update of our LRFP, we will ask committee members to consider current facility conditions; demographics and future student population trends; funding options; and scope and priorities for future phases. An architectural firm will support this work by evaluating each site and helping rank priorities for future phases.
Committee Outcomes
The committee’s primary outcome will be to recommend scope, priorities, and timing for the next phases of the LRFP.
Membership
The Long-Range Facilities Planning Committee membership will consist of:
- Community members
- Union representatives (CKEA, CKESP, CKCA)
- Executive Director of Business and Operations
- Director of Safety and Operations
- District administrators
- School board director, who will observe the meetings
Meeting Details and Schedule
The committee will meet approximately every other week from the end of January through the end of March 2026. Meetings will be scheduled from 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Eligibility and Application Process
To be considered, applicants must:
- Live or work within district boundaries
- Be willing to attend and come prepared for all meetings
- Commit to collaborative, respectful participation
