This spring, many families, students and staff shared concerns about our students’ mental and social health. Part of our work in supporting students this year is to help them strengthen the mindsets, skills and attitudes that help them succeed.

Later this month, students in grades 3 to 12 will participate in an online survey. Survey questions will prompt students to self-reflect on life skills such as:

  • setting and achieving goals
  • rising to challenges
  • believing in themselves and their abilities
  • their belief in their ability to grow and change
  • managing their feelings so they can focus on school
  • interacting and working with others
  • finding support

Student responses will provide invaluable insights how we can better support students’ strengths and needs.

Students will be able to skip questions. We will ask students to take this survey again later this school year so that we can track our progress in supporting students. For more information, please see below for a Q&A on the survey.

Students in grades 6, 8, 10 and 12 will also be asked to take the state’s Health Youth Survey. Families in those grades received a separate letter with details about that survey.

If you have any questions about the survey, please don’t hesitate to contact your school.
