Our school board has reopened the nomination/application process to temporarily fill the board seat that was vacated by Breezy Mitchell. The school board will follow Board Policy 1115P to fill this vacancy. The board will appoint a new director to fill the seat through November 2025.

This seat will appear on the November 4, 2025, ballot. Voters will then elect a director to serve the remainder of the term, which runs through November 2027.

A candidate must be a registered voter and a resident of Director District 2, which serves Hawk Elementary at Jackson Park, Silverdale Elementary School, Central Kitsap Middle School, and Central Kitsap High School. A map of director boundaries is available from the Kitsap County Auditor's Office.

Interested candidates are asked to contact the Superintendent’s Office for application information (or call 360-662-1600, ext. 1615). Citizens may also nominate candidates for this position if nominees are residents of Director District 2. Applications are due by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21.

The school board will screen the candidates and conduct interviews with up to five individuals. The board will conduct interviews on May 27; those interviews will be open to the public (watch for more details). The school board hopes to swear in and seat the new director during the regular board meeting on Wednesday, May 28.
