Complete Impact Aid forms online today!

This year, we are asking families to complete their 2021-22 CKSD Federal Impact Aid survey online in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. On a typical school year, we would send home paper Impact Aid forms home with each student. This new online form makes the process easier than ever! 

The federal funds from our Impact Aid survey help all our students and are used for basic education programs district wide.

On October 1, the survey form will appear in your PowerSchool Parent Portal. If you have an elementary student and have never used the Parent Portal, see our instructions for first-time users.  

We must receive information from every student. Thank you for your cooperation!

What is Impact Aid?

Every year Central Kitsap School District must apply for Federal Impact Aid funds from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds compensate CKSD for the loss of local tax dollars from tax exempt federal property in the Silverdale and Bremerton area.  

CKSD must conduct a federal residence and employment survey on a yearly basis to obtain a current count of families in the district who live on/or work on federal property. The results of our Impact Aid survey help support our request for these federal funds. This survey is critical to our district’s resources for students. Instructions for first-time users

If this is your first time logging in, your username is the email address we have on file for the primary guardian of each student. This is usually the first parent or guardian listed during online registration or returning student check-in. To request your password:

  1. Navigate to the PowerSchool Parent Portal
  2. Click the “Forgot Username or Password?” link.
  3. Enter your email address in both the “Parent Username” and “Parent Email” fields.
  4. Check your email for your password and login instructions.

How do I complete the online form?

  1. Log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal
  2. Select your student's name in the blue bar at the top of the screen. 
  3. Click “Forms” in the left menu. 
  4. Click on the “[Central Kitsap] A  - Impact Aid Program Survey” link. 
  5. Fill in all required fields. 
  6. Click the submit button. 
  7. Repeat steps 3-7 for all students.

If you need more help in reading, understanding, or completing forms or information, the district will provide, upon request, oral translation, or interpretation by a trained translator/interpreter. This service is free. Call Student Services at 360-662-1734 to request translation services. 

What information is reported to the federal government?

The school district only reports the number of students living with families who live on and/or work on federal property. We do not report information about individual students in the Federal Impact Aid application.
