In an effort to keep our community fully informed, we will provide information when positive COVID cases are identified among students or staff in our buildings in the tables below.

Some of the cases included in the table below may have occurred outside the school setting and would not factor into the Department of Health (DOH) outbreak conditions (PDF page 4). Therefore, the information above should only be used for monitoring purposes only, NOT a determination of outbreak status.

This dashboard is updated weekdays by 8:00 p.m. Information is based on self-reporting by families and employees. Positive cases that occurred offsite and posed no potential exposure risk to staff and students are not recorded below.


Total Students In-Person - student receiving in-person learning services.

Total Staff
- total number of district employees

Current Positive Cases - students/staff with a confirmed case who are currently in isolation.

Total Positive Cases - student/staff total positive cases for the 2021-22 school year.

Cases in past two weeks - The number of in-person students or staff with positive COVID-19 cases who had symptom onset OR a positive test result in the past 14 days.

How do you determine if there was an outbreak in a school?

We are required to follow this guidance from the Department of Health (DOH) (PDF page 4):

A COVID-19 outbreak in a school is considered when the following have been met:

  • Multiple probable or confirmed COVID-19 cases comprising at least 10% of students, teachers, or staff within a specified core group


  • At least 3 cases within a specified core group meeting criteria for a probable or confirmed COVID-19 case;


  • Cases have symptom onset or positive test result within 14 days of each other, AND
  • Cases were not identified as close contacts of each other in another setting (i.e., household) outside of the school setting, AND
  • Cases were epidemiologically linked in the school setting or a school-sanctioned extracurricular activity


Why are daily cases so low, but total cases rise at a higher rate?

Our tracker currently shows how many students and staff have an active positive case on the reported day. This data point worked well until the Department of Health changed their quarantine length guidance in January 2022. With the shortened quarantine length, we have staff or students who are out sick, get tested, and by the time they receive and report their test results, they are already eligible to return under the new guidance. This means they might not show up in the current positive cases column, but they are added to the total cases column.

The tracker also includes positive cases that may have happened outside school, even though they do not factor into an outbreak. For example, a student may have contracted COVID-19 from a family member while in quarantine, so they appear as a positive case on our tracker, but they do not factor into our 10% outbreak threshold since they were never at school to expose anyone.
