Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten students in libraryKindergarten registration starts Feb. 4!

We’re enrolling all future students who will turn 5 years old by Aug. 31. All CK Schools provide full day kindergarten.

Even though school doesn’t start until September, signing up now gives you plenty of time to get information about starting the school year off right.

How Do I Register?

Register online beginning Feb. 4!

Also starting Feb. 4, you can visit your neighborhood school during school hours to register. When you register, ask about your school’s kindergarten round-up event, where you and your child can visit and learn more about your new school!

What’s Kindergarten Like?

Do you want to know what your child will learn? What your child should know before he or she starts school? Or what it’s like to ride the bus?

Visit our Welcome to Kindergarten page for information and links to additional resources.

Is this your first child in school? Find out about before- and after-school care, about our district and more on our New Families page.

Kindergarten Roundup Open Houses

Each elementary school hosts a kindergarten round-up event, where you and your child can visit and learn more about your new school. Our schools will also work with you to schedule an appointment to meet 1-on-1 with your child’s teacher in early September, before school starts.

Dates and times for round-ups will be added to this page as they are scheduled.

  • Cottonwood: Thursday, May 21, 2:15 – 3:15 p.m.

  • Emerald Heights: Thursday, May 14, 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

  • Green Mountain: Thursday, May 14, 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

  • John. D. "Bud" Hawk: Thursday, May 14, 2 – 3 p.m.

  • Silver Ridge: Thursday, June 4, 4 – 5 p.m.

How Else Can I Help My Child Get READY?

Please consider attending an upcoming READY! for Kindergarten class.

Visit our READY! for Kindergarten page to learn more about this free program to prepare your child for her or his school years.

We also recommend looking through our guide to kindergarten, “A Positive Beginning” (pdf). It includes tips on activities you can do at home to build school-ready skills.

When Does School Start (and What Other Dates Should I Know)?

You can find important districtwide dates by downloading our district calendar (pdf). See page two for the 2020-21 school year. Visit your school’s website any time to find important dates at your school. On any school site, go to the About section, and click on Calendar.

Important dates to note:

  • Winter/Spring 2020 (dates and times vary): Each school will host a kindergarten round-up where you and your child can learn about your new school. Check with your school for times and dates.
