We help our students set, track and meet challenging academic and career goals. We provide opportunities for students, whether their paths lead toward college or careers.
Our High Schools and Programs
U.S. News & World Report and The Washington Post have ranked our high schools among the top in the nation. Three of our high schools — Alternative, Olympic and Central Kitsap — serve students in grades 9 through 12. Klahowya Secondary serves students in grades 6 through 12.
Our schools offer options to challenge students and to help them explore their interests. Our schools have a variety of Advanced Placement courses. Our alternative high school supports students who flourish outside a traditional classroom setting. We also work with other school districts so students can get professional training at West Sound Technical Skills Center. Students who want to earn both college and high school credit may participate in the Running Start program at Olympic College or take part in our college-in-high school program.
Talk with your school counselor to learn more about your options.
Transitioning to High School
We help our freshmen at Olympic and Central Kitsap to transition as smoothly as possible into high school. We use a program called Link Crew to encourage student success.
Link Crew is led by upperclassmen who volunteer for the program. They remember pretty clearly how overwhelming high school can seem. Throughout the school year, they serve as positive role models, motivators and mentors to our freshmen. They welcome freshmen at an orientation at the beginning of the year. They check in with freshmen throughout the year and encourage them to join social activities. Talk with your school to learn more.
Our high school students must meet all state and district credit requirements to graduate. The requirements for the Class of 2016 will be different from the Class of 2019. Please visit our graduation requirements page for more details.
