Early Childhood Education

We are committed to helping prepare children to start kindergarten.

We engage local childcare providers, preschool teachers and directors in conversations about kindergarten preparation. Our kindergarten teachers and district staff share classroom expectations and recent research in early childhood education. We also offer advice to help children transition to public school.

For parents of children ages birth to five, we offer free screenings if you’re concerned about your child’s development.

We also offer free parent classes called Ready! for Kindergarten. As part of the program, you’ll get free books, toys and strategies to help you teach your child the skills they’ll need to start school. To learn more, call 360-662-1724.
